In some ways, the term “pansexual” came out of biphobia and a need to stipulate that one was not transphobic. If you take the binary view of “bisexual,” then a sexuality specific to an attraction to men and women could be seen as being noninclusive of transgender men and women. On the other hand, transgender men and women want to (and should) be seen as simply men and women, meaning that they would/should be included in that very binary; not including them tends to be much more phobic and noninclusive.

Then there is the thought that the binary view of bisexuality can be seen as phobic of anyone who identifies as genderqueer, or somewhere along the gender and sexuality spectrum, not identifying as male or female, man or woman. But, as I mentioned before, the true definition of “bisexual” is being attracted to those who are the same as me and those who are different from me, encompassing all genders and identities. The often-repeated argument that “bi means two” ignores a simple fact: “Same” and “different” are, indeed, two groups.

Well this has changed everything for me, as someone who until just now defend the term pansexual as more inclusive of people who are genderqueer.

This makes more sense, especially since “hetero-” and “homo-” as prefixes mean different and same, not like “the one out of male and female which you aren’t.”

i’m doing so many things but there are more things to do all the way until the end of today and i don’t want to

tfw you’re trying to brush your teeth but your family’s trying to decide what to wear to a party in 3 days time and you keep getting called into bedrooms to evaluate outfits but your mouth is getting more and more full of foam and you keep trying to leave but there’s always one more dress and you can’t articulate an opinion anyway, you’re just trying to brush your teeth, just trying to brush and spit and rinse but there’s always one more dress and so much foam and one more dress

Anonymous asked, "James Franco is okay, albeit a little immature. The age of consent in New York is 17, so he didn't break the law, and all of the scenes with emma watson were in the script that she chose to do. What is it that you found super repulsive? (objectively). I'm anonymous because I'm scared of being wrong and publicly shamed + I like James Franco and his smart, cultured head."

ok i know james franco didn’t break the law but that doesn’t make what he did ok with me. i think relationships should be equal, and there is obviously no chance for an equal relationship between a 35 year old movie star and a 17 year old fan. I think he was using and abusing the power that he had over her (the ‘cult of celebrity’, as jack riddle said) in his status and his looks to ask for sex from someone that he in no way saw as his equal. The way he responded, with the whole ‘i’m a victim of tricky social media, guess you never really know who’s on the other end’ as though the girl was deceiving him was gross.

the stuff about filming this is the end is a lot trickier because it obviously hasn’t really been talked about, and when it has the actors avoid names, and we don’t know what’s fact or fiction, but apparently an extra wrote an account of it and blogged about it and then took it down, but it’s still floating around:

Emma knew he was going to be in a thong and everyone knows he used to be a stripper. So things were starting to get raunchy. Emma steps on set and looks at the scene and all of us in it and kind of has a freak out moment. Before we started to film she stormed off set with her publicist and Seth was saying what happened what’s wrong with Emma? Then she came back and filmed about 3 minutes of the scene.

During the scene Channing decided to do some of his breakdancing in front of her but alas he was in nothing but a thong.

So Emma storms off set. [x]

There’s more out there about her being uncomfortable with drinking and smoking consistently on set. Seth Rogen’s said that the movie was hugely ad-libbed, around 50%, so they obviously deviated from the script that she’d read. Assuming what I’ve read is true, I think that Seth Rogen, James Franco, and Channing Tatum were in a position to make her feel more comfortable and happy with the movie but instead they pushed her further into feeling distraught enough to leave set. For laughs, I guess.
